One of the primary objectives of the IDEFICS study was to develop, implement and evaluate a setting-based community-oriented intervention programme in 2- to 9.9-year-old children in eight European countries (Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain and Sweden). SUBJECTS: Participants (n 8341) in the baseline (2-9 years old) and follow-up (4-11 years old) surveys of the IDEFICS (Identification and prevention of Dietary- and lifestyle-induced health EFfects In Children and infantS) study. RESULTS: Three persistent clusters were obtained at baseline and follow-up. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Children (16,228) aged 2-9 years old from eight European countries participated in the baseline survey of the IDEFICS study. A subsample of 11,674 children (50.8% males) were included in the present study.
